Shona and Cory had a beautiful Swan Valley garden wedding in October, with the grounds at Sandalford looking lush and green and the afternoon light twinkling through the trees. These two beautiful souls had been high school sweethearts and are still as in love as the day they met.
Their big day was an extra special celebration of love and life as they were also anticipating the birth of their first child and the soon-to-be parents were absolutely radiant.
Both bride and groom spent the morning at the Hyatt International hotel in Perth city and each left separately for the ceremony in their own limo from A Old Limo. I loved hanging out with Shona that morning and capturing all her little details that had been so thoughtfully planned – from the pink roses to the personalised wedding coat hangers to the custom wedding rings from Michael Hill Jewelers. The bride wore a Tuscany Bridal gown with a long flowing train that was simply perfect for her body. Shona’s hair was styled with loose curls by Electric Styles and makeup by Chiara from Special Occasions Makeup. Their ceremony was intimate and heartfelt with handwritten vows, and the look on Cory’s face was that of pure joy as he watched his wife walk down the aisle.
As a wedding photographer at Sandalford Winery in the Swan Valley, there are endless possibilities for locations and this wedding was no different. We strolled through a misty arbor, in and among the vineyards, and all the way out to the front of the property for some dramatic shots at Sandalford’s iron gates at sunset before heading back to the reception in the Durack Room upstairs at Sandalford Estate. Brought to life by Kirsty from Opulence Weddings, the loft-style room with large open windows was almost glittering with lovely gold and pink detailing and there were dozens of candles lining the head table for a breathtaking effect. To top off the night, Shona and Cory joined each other on the dance floor in a shower of bubbles for their first dance together as husband and wife.
