When it comes to planning a summer wedding in Perth, you don’t expect storms for your December wedding date. Ashleigh and Adam were lucky enough to land their special day when the skies were filled with storm clouds and moody lighting. The ceremony was held within the grounds of the Harold Boas Gardens in East Perth and the soft, cloudy lighting accentuated the greenery and gave the couple a wonderfully lush setting for their wedding photos.
It’s so special to be a wedding photographer for two people who have such a deep love for one another, and these two are definitely one of those couples. From the minute we arrived to each of their separate bride and groom preparation locations, both the bride and groom were brimming with smiles and excitement. They both spent the rest of the morning relaxing and having drinks with their close family and friends.
The Dreamer & Collector put together a wedding ceremony that looked like it was straight out of a storybook with rustic wooden pieces and luxurious greenery and florals. Ashleigh’s elegant bouquet and makeup by Brittany Mason brought out every bit of green in her eyes and she totally rocked her loose blonde waves done by Hair by Nicole. As Adam stood beaming from ear to ear, Ashleigh was escorted down to her husband-to-be in a full-length Martina Liana gown, and the two were married by Brid Hutchinson with just their two closest friends standing with them as witnesses. The couple could not have asked for better weather and a more magical garden location for a wedding in Perth.
After the ceremony, the sun peeked out just long enough for me to take them down to the Swan River for some photos by the beach, then as we headed to the South Perth foreshore, the rain couldn’t hold off any longer. It came down so heavily, Ash and Adam had to run back to their Bellagio Limousine for cover and head straight to the reception.
The Secret Garden Cafe was a unique wedding venue for an outdoor cocktail party, and although the guests huddled under shelter to wait out the burst of rain, it let up just as the bride and groom arrived, and the rest of the evening was magical as the fairy lights and raindrops twinkled overhead.
